From October 15 1999, Orvieto, with its cliff, is the international headquarter of the “City of Good Living”, the ideal capital for a city movement that, as written in the “manifesto”, are “animated by curious men […] rich in squares, theaters, shops, coffee, restaurants, the places of the spirit, of landscapes not violated, the charming artisans, where man still recognizes the slow, beneficial succession of the seasons, punctuated by the authenticity of products, respectful of taste and health, the spontaneity of the rites … “. And that’s how the Umbrian town embodies the direction indicated in the cardinal principles of the network of Municipalities ‘slow’: urbanization zero volume, recovery of existing assets, mobility and sustainable energy, environmental education, quality crafts, promotion of local products, only to name a few.
The Farm “Cioccoleta” was one of the first business realities to become part of the “Albo of Supporters Orvieto Cittaslow”, a group of local people who works every day to make their own and spread the principles of Cittaslow that qualify Orvieto in the world and which contribute to enhancing the quality of life.
